Prof. R. A. Singh Memorial Lecture was organised by Faculty of Commerce, BHU

at Thakur Ratan Pal Singh Vanijya Bhawan on March 2, 2024. The theme of the lecture was “Economic Dimensions of Vikshit Bharat“. The Head & Dean Prof. H. K. Singh welcomed all the dignitaries, faculty members and participants. He highlighted the relevance of such lectures on Vikshit Bharat.

 

The Chief Guest of the event was Hon’ble Shri Harivansh, Deputy speaker of Rajya Sabha. He said that India had very rich economic system and prosperous past. But during 2011-12, India faced severe economic crisis with declining foreign reserve. However, now in new India under the revolutionary leadership of our Prime Minister, we are positevely looking forward to superpower India with the vision – Vikshit Bharat @ 2047. India is achieving numerous milestones in the area of labour reforms, banking reforms, make in India, GST collections through tax reforms, infrastructural revolutions, digitalised payments, space research, startup, etc.

 

The Chairman of the event Prof. H. C. S. Rathore, Ex VC, CUSB, emphasised that we should adopt Indian knowledge system in education to elevate India as ‘Vishwaguru‘. He also focused on the role of women empowernment, rural development, MSMEs, etc. in shaping developed India.

 

The other distinguised speakers Shri S. B. Singh, Prof. M. R. Mehta, Prof. Ashish Bajpai and Prof. B. B. Ojha highlighted the various economic dimensions of developed India. They said that India will transform into a superpower developed nation by 2047 with economic development, environment sustainability, social progress and good governance.

Prof. Priyanka Gite, convener of the event extended her gratitude to the guests, faculty members and other participants. The event ended with the national anthem. Dr. Meenakshi Singh, co-convener took care of dais management and anchoring. Dr. Ishi Mohan and Dr. Chinmoy Roy, co-conveners of the event, took care of overall management of the event. The event was a grand success as many faculties, administrators, students and media persons actively participated in the event.
