Annual fest of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus: “AMIPHORIA-2024”

The university campus has transformed into a vibrant festival ground, adorned with elaborate decorations and a variety of stalls offering everything from delicious food to exquisite artificial jewellery, entertaining competitions to fun games. Central Stage also turned the campus into a festive wonderland with mega events like Mr. & Miss Amity.

The second day of the festival was marked by an increased participation from students, faculty, and visitors, who were eager to explore the myriad of attractions and activities.

The evening of the Amiphoria today unfolded into a mesmerizing musical evening, graced by the performance of Padma Shri awardee and renowned Bollywood singer Shri Anoop Jalota. The event, held at the heart of the university campus, drew a large audience, captivated by the melodious renditions of timeless classics and contemporary hits of Anoop Jalota ji.

Anoop Jalota Started his singing with his famous Bhajan ‘Kashi Badli, Ayodhya Badli, ab Mathura ki Baari hai” after this one after one he sung his hit numbers like Mere Man me Ram Tan me Ram”, “Aisi Lagi Lagan”, “Ram ji chale na Hanuman ke bina. Shri Jalota also presented his tribute to Ghazal Legend Pankaj Udhas with his hit ghazal “ Chitthi Aayi Hai”.

In between singer Dr. Prabha Shrivastava sung “Tumko Dekha to ye Khyal aaya” and singer Shuchita Pandey sung Kabhi Ram Banke in her velvety voices.

Adding to the star-studded evening, the famous Bollywood singer Padm Shri awardee, Smt. Malini Awasthi attended the event as the Guest of Honor, lending an air of elegance and charm. Her presence was a testament to the importance of arts and culture in enriching student life and fostering a vibrant community spirit.

Addressing the gathering Malini Awasthi said that this is a new India where the youth is future. She said that the young generation should do hard work and accept the whole country as their family.

Hon’ble member UP Legislative Council Shri Mukesh Sharma was the Chief Guest of this event. Shri Sharma congratulated to students and said that Today in the leadership of our PM Shri Narendra Modi ji world is looking towards this young India and our youth are doing great in every field.

Harshvardhan Agarwal and Rupal Agarwal of HelpU Trust also participated in the program. Today’s evening was organized with the collaboration of Help You Trust.

The highlight of the day was the much-anticipated Mr. and Miss Amity competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from students across the university. The competition, a mega event, featured participants walking the ramp multiple times to judge them on different aspects like personality, appearance, and their talents. The dynamic display of fashion, talent, and confidence made for an unforgettable spectacle, underlining the event’s status as the biggest show for students during the annual festival.

Deputy Pro-VC, Amity University Lucknow Campus wing commander Dr. Anil Kumar Tiwari (Retd) remarked, “The energy and enthusiasm displayed by our students on the second day of our annual function are truly commendable. Their creativity and hard work have turned the campus into a festive wonderland, making this event a memorable experience for everyone involved. He added that “The musical evening with Shri Anoop Jalota and the presence of Malini Awasthi ji added a touch of cultural richness and glamour to our annual festival. The Mr. and Miss University competition was a resounding success, reflecting the diverse talents and personalities that make our university community so unique.”

Dean Student welfare, Amity University Lucknow Campus Prof. Manju Agrawal said that The annual function serves not only as a platform for students to exhibit their skills and passions but also fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among the participants. With one more day to go, the university community eagerly anticipates the concluding events and the crowning of the festival champions.

DAY-3

The Amiphoria-2024, which kicked off three days ago with the Xuberance-Miss and Mister Amity competition, concluded today with a spectacular music performance at the Rock Fest event. The rock fest was electrified by the explosive performances of the famous music group Iqlipse Nova and the high-energy DJ performance by DJ Tracker, filled the Amity campus with enthusiasm and excitement.

Before the closing ceremony, a special program was organized where the inaugural lighting of the lamp was done by the chief guest, former Justice of the Allahabad High Court and the first Chairman of RERA Tribunal Uttar Pradesh, Justice Devendra Kumar Arora along with Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Amity University Lucknow campus, Wing Commander(Retd) Dr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, Dean, Student Welfare and Chairperson of Amiphoria-2024 Professor Manju Agrawal, Dean Academics Dr. Rajesh K. Tiwari, and Harshvardhan Agrawal from Help U Trust and Dr. Rajeev Verma, member Amiphoria 2024 organizing committee.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Wing Commander Dr. Anil Kumar Tiwari congratulated all the participants and winners of the competitions. He stated that Amiphoria is the grandest event of the Amity University Lucknow campus, offering students a platform to showcase their extracurricular talents. He emphasized that the Amity Group represents “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family) in the truest sense, with its 13 international and 11 Amity universities India Campuses. He highlighted the Amity Group’s commitment to fulfilling the vision of its founder, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, of establishing India as a global power.

The chief guest, Justice Devendra Kumar Arora said, “Both my son and daughter-in-law are alumni of Amity University. Dr. Ashok Chauhan ji has made those world-class educational resources available in India in the form of Amity University, for which not only did the children have to go abroad but it was also very expensive. Justice Arora said that along with studies, participation in extra-curricular activities enhances talent. By following the path of truth, justice, and religion, we can achieve any goal with our hard work. He said that even after this, if you face failure then there is no need to be discouraged, continue your hard work believing that God has definitely set a big goal for you. There should be no doubt that success will be achieved.

More than 45 competitive programs were organized by various departments of Amity University Lucknow campus in the three-day running Ammiphoria-2024. In which Amity Designers Award ‘Fashion Show’ was organized on the first day.

In this based on Vasudhaiva Kutambakam, fashion show students of Fashion Technology showcased their own designed costumes in which Rahul Shukla, student of the third-year category, got the first prize, Vindata Kumara got the first runner up and Ayushi Gupta got the second runner up award. In the second-year student category, Anisha Motiyani got the first prize, Sania Chaurasia was the first runner up and Jaya Yadav was the second runner up. In the category of invited participants, the first prize was declared for the team of Allahabad University, Prayagraj, first runner up was the team of Awadha University, and second runner up was the team of Integral University.

Apart from these, consolation prizes were given to teams of KIT University, Kanpur and Allahabad University.

In the singing competition Amity Idol Season 5, Pratyasha Paul of Amity Lucknow became the winner while Aditya Pradhan of Rama Degree College became the first runner up and Shabnam Begum of Amity became the second runner up.

B.Tech Computer Science student Shivyansh Kumar became the winner of the cash prize competition KBC 2.0.

Another important competition which lasted for three days was Expressions, in which the participants had to showcase their skills. In the final round of this competition held today, Divyanshi Pal was declared the winner for her excellent dancing skills.

Aratrika Banerjee won the first prize in the solo category of the dance competition Clatica. Team Rebirth won in the group presentation category.

While Madhavi Tripathi became Miss Amity 2024, Bezner was declared Mr. Amity 2024 in the competition ‘Xuberance Miss and Mr. Amity Contest’ held late yesterday evening. Sanchita Verma got the title of Miss Xuberance, Shreh got the title of Mister Xuberance. Anushka was given the award of Miss Talented and Rishabh was given the award of Mr. Talented.

The closing ceremony honored all winners and contributors to the successful organization of Amiphoria 2024, recognizing the efforts of the Amity community in making the event grand. Faculty heads and a large number of students were present at the program.
