A skill development workshop for construction workers organised
A skill development workshop for construction workers was organised by Lucknow Architects Association along with Faculty of Architecture and Planning AKTU and Ethos foundation on 24th May 2024.
This is first of the series of workshop planned to empower the construction workers by acquiring specific knowledge if different trades.
There was an interactive sessions among city architects and construction workers in which a wide range of topics were discussed that includes healthcare finance children education and overall well being.
This time the focus was on restoration of heritage buildings live demo of lime plaster and stucco was done at site near Kaiserbagh rotary.
The highlight of the event was female Mason Annapurna who displayed her skill in this male dominated field.
Dr Vandana Sehgal principal and dean of FOAP along with Ar Geeta Balakrishnan from Ethos Ar Ashish Srivastav and Ar Ritu Gulati from Lucknow Architects Association also addressed the gathering.
Office bearers of Lucknow Architects association President Prashant P Singh, vice president Ripunjay Patel, General secretary Devesh Mani Tripathi, jt secretaries Asutosh Verma & Awanish Gangwar Executive members Rahul Jadon, K K asthana, Anshu Singh Juwairia Qummurdeen, Vaibhav kulshresha, Anjneya shrma along with prominent city architects ,faculty members and students participated in the event.
A quiz was also organised for construction workers and architects to bring them on same platform.
The event was first of its kind and many more are in pipeline to upgrade and empower the work force involved in construction industry which is the largest industry after agriculture in terms of volume.
