IIIT Lucknow and Bhatkhande Sanskrit University Join Forces to Pioneer AI in Music Education
March 13, 2024 marks a significant milestone in the realm of music education as the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Lucknow and Bhatkhande Sanskrit University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on promoting Artificial Intelligence (AI) in music.
The Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh’s suggestion acted as a catalyst for this groundbreaking partnership, emphasizing the importance of leveraging technology to preserve and propagate Indian classical music heritage on a global scale.
Under the terms of the MoU, both institutions are committed to developing innovative courses at the intersection of computer science and Indian classical music. These courses aim to equip students with the necessary skills to harness AI technologies for music composition, analysis, and performance.
