SURYA COMMAND EQUESTRIAN DISPLAY ORGANISED

An Equestrian Display was conducted on 13th Apr 2024 at Surya Khel Parishar. Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC-in-C, Central Command inaugurated the event. The Display included a Polo match, Mule trick riding, Show jumping and Tent pegging, showcasing the commitment of Surya Command towards the promotion of equestrian sports in the country.

 

60 horses from the Remount Veterinary Corps and the Army Service Corps participated in the event and displayed their skills in the presence of 2000 families, who enjoyed the event with thrill and excitement.

 

The event commenced with unfurling of the Nation Tricolour Flag by Swr Sumit and release of pigeons on horseback. It was followed by an exhilarating Polo match between the Surya Red and Surya Blue teams. The Surya Red team won the “Surya Polo Trophy” by 6-4 in a close fought battle with Surya Blues.

 

Mule Trick Riding and acrobatic skills of the team was displayed by the riders of the ASC who exhibited commendable skills and the training standards. The event also included a breathtaking Show Jumping Skill Display and Six Bar Jumpings by riders from Remount Veterinary Corps in the Surya Khel Parishar.

 

The riders of RVC and ASC exhibited their skills in the tent pegging show and showed excellent coordination between the horses and the riders.

 

The Army Band instilled patriotism and enthusiasm among the audiences present at Surya Khel Parishar in between the events.

 

At the culmination of the event, Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani, GOC-in-C, Central Command and Mrs Mahalakshmi Subramani, Regional President AWWA felicitated and distributed the prizes to young budding ridders of Central Command Equitation Training Node and to various service riders who participated in the said event. The aim of this event was to promote the horsemanship and the equestrian sports among the children of the Lucknow and showcase the skills of the of Army Equestrian Team.
