5th edition of the National Amity Quiz on Constitutional Law

AQCL 2023

The event will be conducted on a massive scale, which may witness vigorous and cut-throat participation among the students from different programs i.e., 5 years LL.B., 3 years LL.B. other Social Sciences (studying Constitutional Law) & school students (classes 11 & 12). This year the event will be conducted in offline mode.

We are inviting law colleges from all over India that foster and promote the cherished principles of constitutional spirit, to stay updated on significant Constitutional challenges and current events happening in the country.

THEME OF THE EVENT:

The Indian Constitution is not just a rule book prescribing the pattern of the government; it is the grundnorm on which the existence of India as a country depends. The Constitution embellished with ideals of equality, fraternity and justice reminds us of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters, and the aspirations of our Constitution makers. As citizens, we all are duty-bound to live up to the true spirit of our constitutional mandate.

Knowledge of the constitution is a pre-requisite to fulfil a citizen’s duty to his country. With this thought in mind, Amity Law School, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus is organizing the 5th National Amity Quiz on Constitutional Law (AQCL) 2023. The competition will provide a platform for participants to compete and test their understanding of the Indian Constitution. It will also enhance their academic knowledge.

GENERAL RULES:

• A single participant entry is eligible.

• Any Undergraduate students of law (5 years LL.B. and 3 years LL.B.), students of social sciences studying Constitutional Law of India, and school students (classes 11th and 12th) studying legal studies may participate in this event.

• There is no limit on the number of students participating from a single institute.

• Participants may not be replaced once they have registered.

• Students must carry College ID cards, or a letter of approval signed by the HOI of their respective institutions.

• The participants will not be allowed to use mobile or any other electronic instruments/gadgets.

• For the Preliminary and Semi-final rounds, the questions will be in the form of MCQs, True / False Statements, and Audio-visual mode in the Final rounds.

• Participants will be given a unique identity code related to the competition, subject to the final decision of the Core Committee.

• The decision of the Core Committee will be final and will not be subject to any change.

• The participants will adhere to the dress code of the competition:

â—‹ female participants should dress in business formals/western formals or Indian formals (black and white).

â—‹ male participants should dress in business formals/ western formals (black and white).

â—‹ school students should dress in their respective school uniforms.

• The Registration fee is non-refundable.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

• Students pursuing 5-year Law Courses, 3-year Law Courses

• Under-graduate social science student (who have studied Constitutional Law)

• School Students (classes 11 & 12) who are studying legal studies can participate in the competition.

• Any number of students can participate from their institution.

Note: This competition is not a team-based competition and thus each student must participate individually.

ROUNDS

PRELIMINARY/ELIMINATION ROUND

• Each participant will be given a question paper containing 50 MCQs.

• Time limit – 45 minutes.

• There will be no negative marking.

• Qualifying participants will be selected for the semi-final Round.

(Note: A Cut-Off list will be made and 50% of the students will qualify for the 2nd round.)

SEMI-FINAL ROUND

• This round will be conducted in MCQ mode and will consist of 25 questions.

• There will be a negative marking of 0.25.

• Time limit – 30 minutes

FINAL QUIZ: STAGE ROUNDS

• Each participant will be asked 10 questions. (Objective questions in an audio-visual mode)

• The time allotted for each question will be 1 minute.

• There will be tie breaker rounds in case of a tie.

AWARDS AND PRIZES:

WINNER- Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 15,000/-

1ST RUNNERS UP- Certificate and a cash Prize of Rs. 11,000/-

2ND RUNNERS UP- Certificate and a cash Prize of Rs. 5,100/-

5 CONSOLATION PRIZES- Certificate and a cash Prize of Rs. 2,100/- (Each)

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Registration starts from 1st August, 2023 (00:00 hrs.)

• The last date for registration is 15th September 2023, (23:59 hrs.)

• The registration will be Deemed completed only when the E-form along with the payment receipt has been mailed on the official email ID.

• Date of competition: 22nd September 2023.

CERTIFICATE FOR PARTICIPANTS:

• Certificate of participation will be issued to those students who will participate in the competition and attend the valedictory session.

• The winner, 1st Runners-Up, 2nd Runners-Up and 5 consolation prize awardees shall be provided with a certificate of merit.

• NO CERTIFICATE will be provided IN CASE OF ABSENTIA.

METHOD OF REGISTRATION:

• Registration will be done through the E – form till 15th September 2023.

â—‹ 500 INR (per participant) for Amitians,

â—‹ For Non- Amitians 590 INR (500 + 18% GST inclusive), which will be deposited electronically. (Non-Refundable)

• Each participant must confirm their registration by sending a mail to the official email address. Email ID: amitynationalquiz@gmail.com

The subject of the mail will be-

“Registration for the 5th National Amity Quiz on Constitutional Law (AQCL) 2023”

Content of the mail will be-

“Name of the participant, contact no. and statement of successful submission of Google form”.

• The above details must be sent only to the official mail id.

ACCOMMODATION:

• Accommodation will be provided to the participants free of cost in the Amity Hostels at the campus for 2 days (21st & 22nd September,2023)

• Food will be provided on the day of the event 22nd September, 2023), and on 21st September It is available to students from the mess/ canteen On a payment basis.

• Teams to send their travel plan, as and when asked by the organizing committee in soft copy.

• Students must bring their basic personal toiletries.

• Pick and drop service will not be provided to the participants by the University.
